Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is proud to announce that Meghan Blythe Shriver, MD, will join its medical team as a general surgeon, expanding access to high-quality surgical care for patients in the region.

Dr. Shriver brings a strong background in general surgery, having completed her residency training at the University of South Alabama. She earned her Doctor of Medicine with honors from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University, graduating summa cum laude.

Originally from White City, Kansas, Dr. Shriver is excited to return to her home state to practice broad-scope general surgery in a rural community setting. Throughout her training, Dr. Shriver has demonstrated excellence in both clinical care and education. She was recognized as Intern of the Year during her residency and received the George J. Farha Award for Excellence in Surgery upon graduating medical school. In addition to her clinical work, she has contributed to surgical education nationally through the Surgical Council on Resident Education (SCORE), helping develop instructional content for surgeons in training.

Dr. Shriver’s experience includes a wide range of general surgical procedures, with additional training in robotic-assisted techniques, including hernia repair. Her work emphasizes evidence-based care, patient safety, and continuous improvement in surgical outcomes.

“I am incredibly excited to return to Kansas and serve a rural community,” said Dr. Shriver. “Growing up in this state instilled in me a deep appreciation for the people and the importance of access to local healthcare. I look forward to building relationships with patients and providing high-quality, compassionate surgical care.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Shriver has deep roots in agriculture and continues to be involved with her family’s farm and ranch. She enjoys working with cattle, managing grassland resources, and attending live country music events.

Dr. Shriver is expected to begin seeing patients at CCMC in August 2026.
