Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Austin Gillard, FACHE, has been named to the 2026 list of “Rural Hospital and Health System Presidents and CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

This national recognition highlights outstanding leaders across the country who are advancing healthcare delivery in rural communities. Gillard’s inclusion reflects both his leadership and the continued growth, innovation, and quality care delivered at CCMC.

Since becoming CEO in 2015, Gillard has led Clay County Medical Center through significant expansion and transformation. Under his direction, CCMC has grown to include five rural health clinics, more than 300 employees, and over 30 departments serving north-central Kansas.

During his tenure, Gillard has overseen the acquisition and development of additional rural health clinics, expanded access to family practice physicians and advanced practitioners, and strengthened CCMC’s ability to provide comprehensive care close to home.
