Welcome Dusti Sikes, CRNA

June 5, 2020

Please welcome Dusti Sikes, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to Clay County Medical Center! Dusti and her husband, Jake, have three beautiful children: Weston, Charlotte “Charli”, and Arlo. The Sikes family lived in Clay Center for several years while Dusti was stationed at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, KS as a CRNA. Dusti and her family will be moving to Clay Center over the summer.

Dusti received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. After nursing school, Dusti worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS as an ICU nurse for two years, and a Liver Transplant Coordinator for three years. Dusti went on to receive her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She is currently completing a Fellowship in Acute Pain Management from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in Madison, Tennessee.

When asked why she went into anesthesia, Dusti said, “I have always had an interest in anesthesia. I loved being an intensive care nurse and a liver transplant coordinator, caring for others is a passion of mine. Being an anesthesia provider allows me to independently assist people during some of their most significant life events. Surgery, traumas, and the birth of a child can be extremely anxiety provoking, potentially painful, and wonderful times; it is a great honor to be there to reassure, treat pain, and assist throughout these experiences.”

“Clay Center is a wonderful community that aligns with what is important to our family. I am incredibly impressed with Clay County Medical Center and the tenants of a family taking care of your family,” said Sikes.

Dusti loves to spend time with her family, being outside, and working on various projects as a family.

Dusti and Jake, welcome back to Clay Center!
