Welcome Cane Griffiths, CRNA

Please welcome Cane Griffiths, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to Clay County Medical Center! Cane and his wife, Megan, are both from Clay Center. They have five beautiful children: Ellie (9), Rylee (7), Raegan (7), Sawyer (5), and Emmie (3). Cane and his family will be moving to Clay Center over the summer.

Cane received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel College in Newton, KS. After nursing school, Cane worked at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KSĀ as a Cardiothoracic ICU Nurse for five years. Cane became interested in becoming a CRNA while in nursing school. Cane states, “I followed a CRNA a couple of times, and was immediately intrigued. It’s amazing being able to get patients through surgery, and watching them wake up relatively pain free.” Cane went on to receive his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia at Newman University in Wichita, KS. For the last four years, Cane has worked in Salina, KS with Anesthesia Associates of Central Kansas.

When asked why Cane wanted to move back to Clay Center and work for CCMC, Cane said, “My wife and I are both from Clay Center. It has always been our goal to move back to Clay Center and provide care to the people we grew up with. We love the small town life style. Clay County Medical Center is a beautiful facility. While working in Salina, many of the surgeons told me Clay Center is lucky to have so many talented medical providers, and I’m excited to get to work with them.”

One of Cane’s greatest achievements is graduating from a very grueling anesthesia program with four very young children. He cannot take much credit in that, because he has an amazing wife who was willing to put up with him while taking great care of their kids.

Cane has a golden retriever named Noah, a blue healer named Lucy, and several chickens, ducks and cows. Cane enjoys hunting, fishing, grilling, and spending time with his family.

Cane and Megan, welcome back to Clay Center!
