Artist Statement

Suzanne M. Holzworth creates limited edition prints with the use of power tools and an etching press. This artwork display was created for a show at Graham Gallery in Hastings, Nebraska in 2007.

For these specific pieces, Suzanne took a photographic dot pattern created by a computer and then recreated the dots using hand operated tools (i.e. a drill press). Drilling different variations on three separate lino blocks, Holzworth ended up drilling around 175,000 holes. This creates a unique combination of both digital and analog technologies. In April 2008, Suzanne and Adam Nielsen presented brand new work at the Ecophenotypic Art Show in Omaha. Visit the website worthitstudio.com for examples of the pieces Suzanne displayed there. Suzanne’s wood cut of an orchid was selected for inclusion in the Smithsonian traveling show of letterpress art. Suzanne also has created other works of art such as oil and water color paintings and sculpture.

Suzanne graduated from Concordia University in Nebraska with a Fine Arts degree. She spent a semester studying abroad in London England.   Suzanne is married and makes her home in Lincoln Nebraska.  She and Bennett have two children, Cameron and Annabelle.  Suzanne is the daughter of Ron and Patti Bender.
