Twin Valley and Clay Center Community High School have announced that the school will be hosting the second annual Twin Valley Teddy Bear Toss Night on Friday, February 14, 2014.

Twin Valley and CCCHS are asking fans to bring NEW and slightly used teddy bears when the Tiger basketball teams host the Marysville Bulldogs. During halftime of the boy’s game, a contest will be featured where fans will throw their teddy bears on to the court for a chance to win a $100 gift card, courtesy of Twin Valley. “The Teddy Bear Toss just makes sense on Valentine’s Day, you can give a bear on behalf of your sweetheart to help a great cause,” said Matt Weller, Assistant Principal & Athletic Director at CCCHS. “Please help us spread the word, and bring as many stuffed animals as you can on the 14th. The girl’s game starts at 6:15 P.M. and the boys tip off at 7:30.” After the toss the teddy bears will be gathered and then donated to the Clay County Medical Center. The bears will find a new home at the Teddy Bear Clinic at the hospital.

Twin Valley has managed to meet a need for youngsters visiting the hospital while providing a great experience for school aged children. Thank You!”

The Teddy Bear Clinic at CCMC is a program that started in 2006, designed to help put children at ease when they visit the hospital. The whole idea is for them to be comfortable with the hospital environment and make the experience fun for them. The clinic "admits" teddy bears to the hospital, and through the use of play therapy, the children use their imaginations in describing mock injuries or illnesses of their teddy bears.

“The Teddy Bear Toss is a great way for people to help a wonderful community program,” said Joe Greene, Twin Valley Marketing & Customer Service Manager. “With over 300 bears donated last year, we are excited to work with the great staff at CCMC to help the Teddy Bear Clinic continue.”
