The Clay County Hospital Foundation (CCHF) is asking for public support to assist Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) in bringing new mental health and enhance specialty medical services to CCMC while growing its base of philanthropic support for local healthcare.
“We want to raise $50,000 to close out our campaign so we can cover the entire expense of furnishings, fixtures and equipment for the planned addition to the hospital,” said Bryce Dolan, CCHF director. “CCHF support for this project will help maximize the services CCMC can bring to our community.”
Donor support has allowed CCHF to step up multiple times throughout the years to partner with CCMC on important projects that have built on the commitment to “providing quality, compassionate care to everyone, ever time.” Since 2018, CCHF assisted financially in the major expansion of the hospital that was completed in 2018, helped build new clinics in Clyde and Riley, supported the complete renovation of Clay Center Family Physicians, and is now engaged in raising funds to support the next major construction project.
CCHF involvement in these projects allows CCMC to optimize its plans for new innovations, expanded capacity and enhanced focus on its patients.
“We have identified specific medical needs in our area, and addressing those needs will further our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of CCMC. “With this expansion, our service capabilities at CCMC will grow as we increase our options for patients in the various fields of expertise within mental health care.”
Several new providers are joining CCMC as part of the expansion, including a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a mental health counselor, and one family and marriage counselor.
“These additions to our team will be unique for a hospital the size of Clay Center’s, and will allow us to identify and treat more of the mental health challenges facing our region,” said Gillard.
The expansion will also create a dedicated space for several specialty services which will be brought in-house for a more efficient patient experience.
“This new area will serve pediatrics to geriatrics for general surgery, ENT, pulmonology, urology, and orthopedics,” said Gillard. “When we move into this new area, all these services will be billed under Clay County Medical Center and patients will not receive separate bills from the aforementioned specialists.”
The CCHF board saw a lot of benefit to the community associated with the expansion plans developed by CCMC and wanted to get behind the project with its full support.
The Foundation leans on philanthropic support from supporters in the community to make it possible to continue its legacy of partnering on local healthcare projects.
“Donors can take pride in the fact their contributions are directly impacting the health of the entire community and we’d love to see more people consider donating to the Foundation’s efforts,” said Dan Thalmann, campaign manager. “A $500 donation makes a donor a lifetime member of CCHF and we sincerely appreciate the support of our membership over the years. We’d love to see more people consider donating toward the Foundation’s efforts.”
Any gift to CCHF over the next couple months will go toward the remaining $50,000 of targeted expenses of the expansion project. Donations can be made conveniently online at:
