Gillard Recognized Nationally

Please join us in congratulating CEO Austin M. Gillard, FACHE of Clay County Medical Center for being recognized as one of 67 rural hospital CEOs to know by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Becker’s Hospital Review published the 2022 list of rural hospital CEOs to know for 2022 on Feb. 22. The article stated, “The executives featured in this list have put their heart and soul into ensuring their communities have access to the best healthcare services possible. While rural hospitals across the country have faced closure in recent years, these leaders have developed a model for not only surviving, but thriving.”

Since 2015, Gillard has led CCMC through several construction projects, acquiring and opening five rural health clinics, recruited several medical providers and specialists, and has led CCMC to be a Top 20 Hospital in the U.S. in 2020 and 2021 in patient quality, outcomes, and price. Gillard serves on multiple national, state, and local boards.

“I am humbled and honored to be one of the various leaders at Clay County Medical Center,” said Gillard. “Our accomplishments, as an organization, would not be possible without our excellent medical providers; they truly make everything possible and deserve this recognition.”
