November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month and hospices across the country are reaching out to raise awareness about the highest quality care for all people coping with life-limiting illness. Meadowlark Hospice provides hospice care in Clay, Cloud, Marshall, Republic, Western Riley, and Washington Counties. Each year approximately 175 patients receive care from our hospice staff and trained volunteers.
Our Mission at Meadowlark Hospice is to provide loving, compassionate care for those living with a life limiting illness.
Meadowlark Hospice Makes More Meaningful Moments Possible!
Hospice and palliative care combines the highest level of quality medical care with the emotional and spiritual support that families need most when facing the end of life. Through this specialized quality care, we see many patients and their families experience more meaningful moments together. Hospice helps them focus on living despite a terminal diagnoses. Hospice care continues after a loved one has passed by providing bereavement support to the family and loved ones.
Patients eligible for Hospice services receive care in a home setting. That setting can be in a person’s home, a nursing home, or assisted living. The Medicare Hospice benefit is available to cover the costs of Hospice care. Regardless of the ability to pay or insurance coverage, Hospice may be available.
If you are facing a life limiting illness, I encourage you to ask your healthcare provider or Meadowlark Hospice about options for end of life care. It is your life, your moment to choose how you will live in the final days, and your opportunity to know loved ones will have support after you pass.
