Quality Respiratory Care Recognition

We are proud of the highly qualified and dedicated professional staff in the Respiratory Therapy Department at Clay County Medical Center and of their commitment to restoring health, promoting wellness and providing comfort in a positive, caring environment. Our Respiratory Therapists are Ronda Rosenquist, CRT, Director of Respiratory Therapy, Dana Coberly, RRT, Michael Reeves, RRT, Mandie Beneviat, RRT-NPS, Denise Baumann, RRT, and Jana Cox, RRT.

Hospitals receiving the American Association of Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) designation meet strict safety and quality standards related to the provision of respiratory care services by qualified respiratory therapists.

Requirements for hospitals:

  • All respiratory therapists employed by the hospital to deliver bedside respiratory care services are either legally recognized by the state as competent to provide respiratory care services or hold the CRT or RRT credential.
  • Respiratory therapists are available 24 hours.
  • Other personnel qualified to perform specific respiratory procedures and the amount of supervision required for personnel to carry out specific procedures is designated in writing.
  • A doctor of medicine or osteopathy is designated as medical director of respiratory care services.

“We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality and most compassionate care”, said Austin M. Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “Clay County Medical Center is one of only nine hospitals in the state with this designation. The award is significant in recognizing our commitment to excellence.”

Other Kansas hospitals recognized include Providence Medical Center and University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City; Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville; Newton Medical Center, Newton; Olathe Health Systems, Inc., Olathe; Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, Overland Park; and Select Specialty Hospitals, Topeka and Wichita.
