The Look of Stain Glass thru Fabric by Sandy Ruthstrom now showing in the hospital dining room until July 31, 2015.
Mark and Sandy Ruthstrom purchased a home in Clay Center, Kansas a few years ago. Sandy is the youngest of 12 children and was raised in Concordia, KS where her grandmother taught her how to sew at the age of nine. She started making quilts and has enjoyed that pursuit for more than 20 years.
Sandy’s emotional response to after the 9-11 attack on the United States was the catalyst for her to explore something new. In her first picture, she incorporated a yellow ribbon in the center where it looked like an old flag waving behind it. The soldiers name and platoon were on the ribbon. This is the only picture she has ever had duplicated and it is the only one she ever will. All of her pictures are one of a kind, numbered, signed, and dated. It is legally binding that they will never be duplicated.
She designs a lot of her own work but will do special orders. Sandy has shipped her pictures all over the United States. You may call, if interested in buying her artwork or having something designed especially for you. Sandy and her husband also make their own frames.
