Financial Assistance Program

We know that financial concerns can add to the stress of any medical need. This information is supplied to assist you in settling your accounts. We want you to concentrate on healing, not worrying about paying for medical care. Therefore, we will work with you to Interpret insurance coverage; verify insurance eligibility and benefits; notify the insurance carrier and obtain authorization for treatment. We will research payment options available to you. Clay County Medical Center is dedicated to quality care for everyone, regardless of ability to pay. If you think you may have difficulty paying for medical services or paying an existing bill, contact the Business Office at (785) 632-2144

If you need help in paying your bill, Clay County Medical Center offers a Financial Assistance Program. You can request an Application for Financial Assistance from our Patient Accounts Representative or download one below. We will evaluate your need for help once you return the completed form.

Understanding Your Statement

After all insurance has paid on an account, payment in full is requested. Payments may be made in a variety of ways. These options include the following: cash, personal check, or money order, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover, or single or recurring ACH withdrawals may be set up through the patient accounts representative.

If you are not able to pay the balance of your account in full upon receipt of your first statement, contact the Patient Accounts Representative to set up a payment plan. If you feel your insurance company has not paid in accordance with your health plan, please contact your insurance company before calling CCMC.

When calling CCMC or your insurance company with billing questions, have as much of the following information available as possible:

  • Patient Name
  • Date of Service
  • Account Number
  • Explanation of benefits from your insurance company
